Pat Winchell, 90, Santa Claus

Pat Winchell, 90, of Santa Claus, died on August 30, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Pat was born June 18, 1933, in Rockport to Charles and Murn Winchell.

He graduated from Rockport High School in 1951, attended Franklin College and served in the U.S. Army for two years.

Pat worked for Indiana Bell, retired from Lake Rudolph, was a Justice of the Peace in Spencer County, and an entrepreneur.       

Pat enjoyed playing cards, boating and spending time watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports.

Pat is survived by his wife of 71 years, Shirley (Rudy) Winchell; three sons, Rike (Ruthie), Tim (Cindy) and Doug (Joanie); grandchildren, Jade Winchell, Jennifer Knox, Jessica Winchell, Stephanie Fuchs, Lacy Holderfield, Nathan Winchell; 11 great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service is planned.
