Patoka 2000 Duck Race winners

The 21st annual Patoka 2000 Duck Race was held on Sunday, May 19 at 1:00 p.m. near the gazebo in the RiverWalk plaza area. Hundreds of cute little toy ducks competed in this unique event.

The winners of the 2013 Duck Race are:

3) $100 Gift Certificate from Green Thumb Landscaping – Alice Merkel

4) $100 Cash from Bob Luegers Motors – Sharon Heaton

5) $100 cash from Uebelhor & Sons – Gavin Arthur

6) One (1) 6-month subscription to the Herald – Gerald Apple

7) $50 Gift certificate from Green Tree Antiques – Elle Readle

8) $50 Gift certificate from Audio World – Jeff & Helen Hasenour

9) Stadium Seat with Blanket from Dubois R.E.C. – Melinda Hulsman

10) Assorted clothing and accessories from Jasper Engines – Melinda Hulsman

Funds raised during the Annual Duck Race support the continuing efforts of Patoka 2000:

•Semi-annual clean-up of the Patoka Bridge Area

•Beautification of the Patoka Bridge Area, planting of flowers, spreading mulch, etc.

•Planting the flowers on the bridge for each season.

•Re-greening and tree planting in the downtown areas of Jasper.

•One of our purposes is to plant trees where appropriate, preserve existing trees, promote the proper trimming of trees, and to be an educational resource to the community.

•Every tree we plant strengthens the global forest … connecting us to all who have gone before us and all who will follow.

•Thanks to the Rotary Club of Jasper for providing the new planters on the Patoka River Bridge.
