Paul Cave Jr., 87, Dubois

Paul Thomas Cave Jr., 87 years young, of Dubois, entered into eternal rest on Jan. 23, 2017, at his residence.
He was born in Crystal on Sept. 12, 1929, to Paul Thomas Cave Sr. and Belle Bernice (Ziegler) Cave. Paul married Eva Flo Elkins on July 3, 1949, and she survives.
Paul was a member of the Crystal Community Church, the Crystal Community Club and graduated from French Lick High School with the Class of 1947. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed watching high school basketball, playing cards and loved to spend time with family and friends.
He worked Jasper Lumber Company for several years until he was hired at United States Gypsum in Shoals where he worked for 36 years and retired as a Maintenance Foreman.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sharon Hilton; a brother, Dennis “Butch” Cave; two sisters, Janice Ann Dodd and Mary Jane Ballard.
Paul is survived by his wife, Eva Flo Cave of Dubois; four sons, Thomas L. Cave and Roger M. (Kathy) Cave, both of French Lick, Scott W. Cave of Jasper and Aaron K. (Christine) Cave of Medford, N.J.; a daughter, Connie L. (Russ) Puckett of Linton; three brothers, Donal (Marie) Cave of Jasper, Ernest Glen “Ernie” (Roberta) Cave of French Lick and Kenneth (Auretta) Cave of Crystal; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted by Pastor Mike Stout at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, at the Brosmer-Kemple Chapel in French Lick. Interment will follow in the Crystal Cemetery in Crystal.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25 at the Brosmer-Kemple Chapel and again on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
The family requests memorial contributions be made in memory of Paul to the Crystal Cemetery Fund or to the Crystal Community Club.
