Purdue Extension Does…Just in time parenting!

Parenting is an important and sometimes overwhelming responsibility, especially for new parents. Just in Time Parenting is a free resource to help parents understand their children’s development by providing helpful information and tips.

Just in Time Parenting is available from Purdue Extension through an educational partnership among the nation’s land-grant colleges. It focuses on providing parents with reliable, researched-based information to help children grow well mentally, emotionally, physically and socially. The newsletter is an email or text subscription and automatically every month. Since your news focuses on your child’s age of development, your questions are answered just when you need answers.  So just when you are wondering will my toddler ever stop using the word no, the answer arrives in your email. Or when you realize your five-year-old is scared about going to school and asking, “How will I find kindergarten?” or “What if I get lost?” Some tips for talking to your child will arrive!

The content of each newsletter is written by parenting experts (who are parents themselves!). The news is designed so information that’s relevant to your child is automatically delivered to you just in time!  This national newsletter is currently benefitting parents across Indiana and many more parents across the nation. The newsletter also is available in Spanish from the Just in Time Parenting website.

Parents can learn more about feeding children healthful foods, helping children develop small and large motor skills through play, promoting language skills and parent-child relationships, creating a safe home environment and financial planning for your child’s future. Parents can subscribe or unsubscribe at any time.

Purdue Extension has provided research-based parenting education in many ways over the years in support of creating strong Hoosier families. Just in Time Parenting provides doable and simple strategies that promote healthy growth development for parents to incorporate into their everyday lives when they want to learn it. Just in Time Parenting is an easy-to-read resource that comes directly to the parent every month with information and strategies only related to the current age of the child.  Parents can subscribe for the age of each child in their family.
