Canceled: Wildlife refuge hosting Whooping Crane talk in Oakland City

Update: Due to a scheduling conflict, this event has been canceled.

The public is invited to attend a seminar on cranes at the Oakland City Public Library on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at 9 a.m. CST.

The seminar will focus on the comeback of our Indiana Whooping Cranes.

International Crane Foundation staff will lead a program teaching about how to identify Whooping and Sandhill Cranes, the history of their decline and return, and where you can see these wonderful birds in Indiana.

The program will take about an hour and then, the group will gather together for a caravan over to Patoka River National Wildlife Refuge to see the cranes if they are in the area.

Plan for caravanning to take up to 45 minutes to the area, plus however much time needed to watch the cranes.
