Rosemary Freson, 85, of Huntingburg, passed away at 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

She was born December 6, 1929 in Huntingburg, Indiana, to Hobart and Minnie (Hollander) Chappell.

She married Herb J. Freson on November 30, 1974 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg.

Rosemary was a homemaker and had worked as a clerk at Yogi’s Liquor Store. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Huntingburg V.F.W. Post #2366 Ladies Auxiliary; was an avid fisherman; enjoyed attending yard sales; and was an enthusiastic collector of anything related to frogs, fish and hummingbirds.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Jewel Jenkins; three brothers, Bob Chappell, Jack Chappell and Hobart Chappell; and by one grandson.

She is survived by her husband, Herb J. Freson of Huntingburg; four daughters, Vicky (Steve) Wagner of Huntingburg, Pat (Dan) Gehlhausen of Celestine, Barb (Tom) Hall of Holland, and Deanna (Brad) Schmett of La Quinta, Cali.; one son, Robert Lange of Jasper; one stepdaughter, Dodie (Steve) Uhl of Jasper; one stepson, Jim (Sue) Freson of Newburgh; One brother, Jerry (Laura) Chappell of Holland; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Rosemary Freson will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Huntingburg.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday.  A parish vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donation can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
