Ruby I. Gehlhausen, 93

Ruby I. Gehlhausen, 93, of Birdseye passed away Monday September 16th at River Point Health Campus in Evansville.
She was born June 9, 1920 in Warrick County, IN, to James and Golda (Taylor) Lauderdale.
She married Ambrose A. Gehlhausen on November 11,1941 in St. Martin Of Tours Catholic Church in Siberia, In. He preceded her in death on January 25, 2007.
Surviving are three daughters, Betty Glaz and husband Thomas of Columbia, SC, Patricia Dean and husband Patrick of Evansville, and Joan Gehlhausen of Birdseye; 11 grandchildren, Eric Carson, Michele Leahy, Nancy Glaz, John Mark Glaz, Carrie and Michael Dean, Natalie Boyles, Eric and Kevin Schatz, Tara Oliver and Lori Delagarza; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jane Casey of Sevierville, TN and Geneva Shourd of Evansville; one brother, Loren Lauderdale of Evansville.
Ruby was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn J. Carson, one son, Gregory Gehlhausen, two grandchildren and seven siblings.
Ruby and her husband owned & operated A & R Country Store in Birdseye, she was a former employee at Grants Department Store and Sears.
Ruby was a member of St. Martin Of Tours Catholic Church, Siberia. Her hobbies include Crossword puzzles, crocheting, and she was an avid reader.
Funeral services 10:00 a.m. CDT, Friday in St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Siberia, burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. CDT, Thursday and 7:00 to 9:30 a.m. CDT, Friday at Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand.
