The Jasper Common Council thanked Mayor Terry Seitz for his seven years as leader of the city and presented him with a key to the city Wednesday evening.

Councilman Dean Vonderheide interrupted the beginning of the meeting after the Pledge of Allegiance to praise Seitz for pushing the city forward. He also commended Seitz for his passionate leadership style and dedication to spreading the word about Jasper across the state.

Each council member took a moment to congratulate him and wish him well in his new position as a senior staffer with U.S. Senator-elect Mike Braun.

Seitz’s family was in attendance to see him presented the key.
