Iglasia Nueve Vida and Shiloh Church of Jasper will be worshipping, sharing, and working to bring Christians together this weekend at Shiloh in the spirit conviviendo (living together).
Pastors Maria Lopez and Dan Sinkhorn have led their congregations to join with each other for a time of food, fun, and worship on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. in the Shiloh Life Center, 1971 State Road 56.
The goal is to continue the spirit of the annual Family Festival organized by Lopez and a team of volunteers in the summertime, most recently at Schroeder Sports Complex in Jasper.
Sinkhorn approached Lopez to consider ways to keep the spirit alive throughout the year and to generate more involvement from non-Spanish speaking members of the community. Both pastors agreed that the best thing to do first was to spend time together.
Languages, cultures, and subcultures often divide people because of fears. However, as Christians, we worship and serve the same God and Savior, the two said in a press release.
