Shining thru the rain

The annual Night to Shine event hosted by Redemption Christian Church in Jasper was relegated to a drive-through event again in 2022.

That didn’t stop the kings and queens from showing up to receive their special crowns and gifts to an entourage of fans and paparazzi for the Shine Thru Parade. Despite the rain and cold, volunteers lined the drive to welcome the guests of honor as they drove through.

Night to Shine is an annual prom-like experience for individuals with special needs. Redemption Christian Church has partnered with the Tim Tebow Foundation to host the annual event since 2016. Due to Covid-19, the prom that typically includes a red carpet entrance, dinner, dancing and games has been transformed into a drive-through parade experience.

  1. This event is so memorable for all involved – effots are much appreciated. I believe my little sis Betty Beckman was visited in regards to this initiative – so, special thank you! Betty has come to look forward to ‘prom night’ and the red carpet walk, crowns, bling, dinner, and OMG dancing with her escort as well as fine friends!
    Thank you!
