The community outpouring in clothing, shoes, gift cards, housing ware, and cash was overwhelming Saturday morning

Football players, their families, and coach Scott Buening opened the doors to the Southridge fieldhouse to accept the items for the Kirk Brown family.

And the help came from all corners of the county.

“It’s not just Southridge people, we have had a lot of Jasper people and Ferdinand people. It’s coming from all over,” Buening said Saturday. “School and community boundaries were pushed aside. It has just been a neat day.”

The story on the fire is here.

The two-hour event collected bags and bags of clothing, shoes, cash, and gift cards for the family.
