St. Joe presents “A Gift of Love – Conceived in Rape”

Monica Kelsey will present her story of being saved from abortion and subsequently facing her father, her mother’s rapist.

Kelsey.

Kelsey will tell her story at Kundek Hall at the St. Joseph Parish Center Thursday, October 5 at 7 p.m. Open to the public.

Kelsey will share the story of her greatest hero, her birth mother. Conceived in rape, her mother was taken to a back street abortionist. Faced with the abortion her mother could not take that step. She walked out against the wishes of her family. Her mother was then hidden till the birth when Monica was placed for adoption. Her story continues with having a loving and wonderful adopted family, meeting her birth mother and facing her biological father, a rapist.

She will share the emotional roller coaster of the journey. The joy of being given the gift of life. The depression of knowing she was created in a violent attack. Her work with Safe Haven Laws and founding Safe Haven Baby Boxes LLC and her goal to protect the unborn and assist mothers facing the challenges of unplanned pregnancies.

This presentation is sponsored by Stephen Ministry, Religious Education Department and the Respect Life Committee of Saint Joseph Parish. She will also tell the Middle and High School Youth of Saint Joseph her story on Wednesday, October 4 at 7:00 p.m. Middle School Students of Holy Trinity on Thursday afternoon, October 5.
