Talented trio to present Beethoven, Stutschewsky, and Brahms

The Goldstein-Peled-Fiterstein Trio will perform at the Jasper Arts Center this Friday, February 7, 2020, at 7:30 p.m.

Bound by their Israeli roots, pianist Alon Goldstein, cellist Amit Peled, and clarinetist Alex Fiterstein formed the Goldstein-Peled-Fiterstein Trio in 2005. Today, the ensemble’s performances reflect both the special gifts and
originality of the three artists as soloists as well as their marvelous sense of ensemble and love of chamber music. The New York Times praised the ensemble for displaying “the kind of spotless technique that keeps the
attention focused on the score rather than the vagaries of the performance.”

Alon Goldstein, pianist, is admired for his musical intelligence and dynamic personality. Mr. Goldstein’s artistic vision and innovative programming have made him a favorite with audiences and critics alike throughout the
United States, Europe, South America, and Israel. He has been hailed across the country as a superb artist and exciting soloist with such orchestras as Philadelphia, St. Louis, Los Angeles, San Francisco and many others. Mr.
Goldstein’s past appearances include performances at Carnegie Hall, with the Chicago Symphony at Ravinia, on the Indianapolis Symphony’s Prokofiev festival, as well as international engagements with the London
Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France.

Israeli-American cellist, conductor, and pedagogue Amit Peled, a musician of profound artistry and charismatic stage presence, is acclaimed worldwide as one of the most exciting and virtuosic instrumentalists on the concert stage today. Highlights of Peled’s 2019-2020 season include performances with the Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional, Abilene Philharmonic, Bellingham Symphony, Lubbock Symphony, Auburn Symphony (CA), and Fargo-Moorhead Symphony; the premiere of Joshua Bornfield’s Concerto for Cello and Choir with the Händel Choir of Baltimore; a Beethoven cycle with Alon Goldstein in Mexico; and his debut conducting the Peabody Chamber Orchestra. Peled lives in Baltimore and performs on an 1800 Thomas Dodd cello.

Alexander Fiterstein, clarinetist, is recognized for playing that combines flawless technique and consummate musicianship with graceful phrasing and a warm, soulful tone. A recipient of the 2009 Avery Fisher Career Grant Award, first-prize winner of the Carl Nielsen International Clarinet Competition and the Young Concert Artists International Auditions, he has appeared with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s at Lincoln Center, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Polish Kammerphilharmonie, Danish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, Israel Chamber Orchestra, Jerusalem Symphony, Tokyo Philharmonic and China National Symphony Orchestra. In recital, Mr. Fiterstein has appeared at the National Gallery of Art, Kennedy Center, 92nd Street Y, Carnegie’s Weill Hall, the Louvre in Paris, and Suntory Hall in Tokyo. Mr. Fiterstein is Professor of Clarinet at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University.
