Taswell man arrested for allegedly battering hospital staff

Jasper officers were dispatched to Memorial Hospital for the report of a combative patient Friday afternoon.

According to police, they were called to the hospital at about 4:52 p.m. When they arrived, staff members there reported that Josey Wales Shelton, 19, of Taswell, had allegedly punched a Memorial Hospital staff member in the chest and chin. Also, Shelton allegedly wrestled with a female staff member and held her against her will.

Shelton was charged with battery and criminal confinement. Police booked him into the Dubois County Security Center.

    last time I was there I felt like punching someone. they treated my wife very bad in the ER. we finally left in without seeing a Dr. after an hour wait. horrible bedside manners. we’ll never go back
