‘TechKnow’ highlights Midwest tech culture

Jasper-based Matrix Integration hosted the third annual TechKnow networking and education event at the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center on Friday, April 22.

The free event highlighted the Midwest’s tech startup culture while introducing more than 150 attendees to Jasper’s unique attributes.

The event opened Thursday with a golf scramble at Sultan’s Run followed by a networking event at the River Centre High Pointe. Then, Friday was focused on business, technical and strategy sessions hosted by Matrix Integration’s strategic partners at the cultural center. Sessions were provided by companies like Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Aruba, Cisco, Veeam, and Baracuda.

Business sessions covered how (and how much) to invest in IT, the best ways to create a secure and consistent IT backbone, and how to leverage IT to support concrete business goals.

Tech sessions covered a broad range of topics, from the latest tech for manufacturing to hybrid cloud solutions and ransomware.

This is the third annual event. Held every other year, the next event is planned to take place in 2024. According to organizers, those in attendance loved the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center and because of the success, Matrix is considering hosting the event in Jasper in 2024 as well.
