The Vanity Aesthetic Spa about beauty and self-care

From left: Haley Raetz, Hailey Bartlett, and Rachel Thomas all operate businesses designed to make you look and feel better at The Vanity Aesthetic Spa in Ferdinand.

Hailey Bartlett opened The Vanity Aesthetic Spa in Ferdinand to provide her clients with the skin care she wished she had when she was growing up.

As a young child, Hailey loved creating beautiful makeup looks and fun hairdos, but her passion shifted when she encountered severe acne as a young teen. The St. Meinrad native went to doctors “who were quick to give me a prescription or a cream, which inevitably didn’t work for the long term,” she explained. “So there I was in my twenties, still struggling, and now had scarring to go along with it.”

Hailey decided to seek out her own answers, which led her to become an esthetician, a skin care professional specializing in the health and beauty of the skin.

She opened The Vanity in August last year to begin helping people struggling with acne and other skin issues. But as she worked with her clients, many asked about other services that could be offered under one roof in Ferdinand.

“They began to ask if I could offer services that they travel over an hour to receive,” she explain. “That is when I decided to bring on other professionals.”

Soon, Haley Raetz, a fellow esthetician who attended school with Hailey, moved her business, Magnolia + June Esthetics, into a suite at The Vanity. Rachel Thomas, who operates Pure Massage Therapy LLC, saw a Facebook post that The Vanity was seeking a therapeutice massage service. She knew Hailey from high school and reached out about joining her in the endeavor as well.

All three operate independently in the single location at 301 E 1st Street in Ferdinand–near Hodgini School of Dance and Gymnastics and Access Storage Now. While Hailey offers professional results-based skin care treatments, home regimens, and lash extensions under The Vanity, Rachel provides all types of massage therapy modalities, and Haley Raetz offers makeup artistry, lashes, full-body waxing, and permanent brows.

Hailey loves working with her patients. “I love to share my knowledge on skincare and professional treatments to help the client treat their concern,” she said. “As they come in for their routine treatments, we form a bond sharing about things going on in our lives and it forms a beautiful professional friendship.

“Sometimes a one-hour facial is all the ‘me’ time some patients get, so I always try to make it a comfortable, healing, and relaxing environment,” she said. “There’s no better way to get clear, youthful skin”

For now, as the business grows, visits are by appointment only and can be scheduled through their websites or social media accounts.

You can contact Hailey at The Vanity through her booking platform, or on Facebook here. Haley Raetz on Facebook here. And Rachel can be reached through her Facebook page here or website here.

“If you visit one of our websites and don’t see a time that works out for your treatment convenience, please feel free to message us, and we will absolutely make something work for you,” Hailey explained.
