Two tornado/storm debris sites to remain open
Due to high demand, the county is extending the time two debris disposal sites will remain open to August 23, 2023.
Haysville Park South Field, Haysville Park Street (north side of the road just past the mill) is accepting natural wood debris (tree limbs, branches, et.), and there is a dumpster for construction debris and a dumpster for metal.
The site at the corner of County Road 960 East and State Road 56 is accepting construction debris.
The Dubois Site is now closed.
These sites will be available from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and will remain open until 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
Any woody debris in the county right of way to be disposed of should be placed next to the
county roadway for pick up. If items can be cut into smaller than eight-foot lengths, it is appreciated.
The State of Indiana and Dubois County do not allow the open burning of storm debris (i.e. treated lumber, construction debris etc., with the exception of clean untreated wood and tree limbs.)
Debris piles must be small and always supervised. Before any natural debris is burned, the property owner is encouraged to contact their local fire chief.
