Viola Ruth Dowdell, 72

Viola Ruth Dowdell, 72, of Huntingburg, Indiana, passed away at 12:40 p.m., Thursday, June 26, 2014 at The Waters of Huntingburg nursing center in Huntingburg.

She was born March 28, 1942 in Huntingburg, Indiana, to Clifford and Edna (Gambill) Reinbold.

She was united in marriage to Ronald M. Dowdell on March 25, 1961 at the Duff Church of Christ in Duff.

Viola was a homemaker; a member of the Duff Church of Christ; and enjoyed attending auctions and flea markets with her husband. She was preceded in death by: her mother and father; one brother, Doyle Reinbold; and one grandson, Ryan A. Dowdell.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald M. Dowdell of Huntingburg; one daughter, Carolyn Dodson of Huntingburg; two sons and two daughter-in-laws, Scott (Susan) Dowdell of Syracuse, Ind., and Alan (Kerry) Dowdell of Winslow; one brother, Clifford Eugene Reinbold, Jr. of Jasper; one sister, Glenda Coons of Velpen; and one grandson, David Dodson III.

Funeral services for Viola Ruth Dowdell will be held at 1:00 p.m., EST on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Mayo Cemetery near Duff. Larry Mickler will officiate at the services.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2-8 p.m., on Saturday; and also from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center.
