Walton M. “Wally” Bauer, age 70, of Jasper passed away at 11:10 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

Wally was born in Shoals, Indiana on August 14, 1943 to Henry and Mary (Mann) Bauer. He married Susie Jones on May 1, 1970 in Shoals Methodist Church.

Wally worked as a draftsmen/estimator for most of his life, and he was well known as a musician, performing with many local bands including, Freddy and the Boys, Junction 64, Ray and Lovin’ Country, and The Sintars.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dubois, Indiana and the Jasper Moose.

He loved music and enjoyed being a handyman.

He is survived by wife, Susie Bauer, of Jasper, IN; one daughter, Angie West, of Fishers, IN; one son, Nathan Bauer, and fiancé Kelly Frey, of Zionsville, IN; two grandsons, Cameron and Brayden West; four sisters, Rose McKibben, of Shelbyville, IN, Helen Greene, of Shelbyville, KY, Margaret Zehr, and her husband Armin, of Dubois, IN, and Ann Troutman, and her husband Lee, of French Lick, IN; four brothers, Pete Bauer, and his wife Carolyn, of Greenwood, IN, August “Augie” Bauer, of Shoals, IN, Louis Bauer, and his wife Helen, of Haysville, IN, and Kenny Bauer, Dubois, IN; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death is one brother George Bauer.

Funeral services for Walton M. “Wally” Bauer will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday (October 5, 2013) at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. The Rev. Mary Poston will officiate.

Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2013, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.
