Warm weather ice skating

The 55-degree weather Saturday brought many out to try the popup ice skating rink in Huntingburg’s Market Street Park on Saturday. The rink was originally set to be available during Small Business Saturday the day after Black Friday but the weather forced Destination Huntingburg to reschedule to later in the month. Photos by Matthew Crane.
Bryce Peters started heading down the middle of the rink after a few laps around the edge to become accustomed to the slick material and skates.
Rhys Rauscher, 5, held the rink wall contemplating his run to the opposite side of the rink.
Sandi Trusty spun her granddaughter, Amelia Trusty, 4, as the two skated Saturday afternoon at Huntingburg’s Market Street Park.
Jodi Rivers and her daughter, Scarlett, 3, conversed as they traversed the edge of the rink Saturday evening.
Clarke Fenneman, 4, was encouraged by her mother, Millie (left), to head across the rink Saturday evening in Huntingburg’s Market Street Park.
Jedidiah Woodward, 8, of Monroe City, skated in his pirate costume Saturday afternoon. According to his family, they decided to check out the skating rink after coming to Huntingburg to run some errands.

How awesome is this! What a fun thing to do for the city of Huntingburg residents. The changes that are being done around this city are amazing and the people must be loving the changes especially since they are being done to encourage Huntingburg life. Thanks to the Mayor and all city employees! Jasper should take note of this.
