Weisheit joins Superior Ag staff

Preston Weisheit joins Superior Ag as credit manager.

Weisheit will be accountable for the entire credit granting process, including implementation of all dealer financing programs. He will assess the creditworthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses. He will work closely with Administrative Support Staff and Sales Specialists to develop and maintain relationships with our member-customers. He will be based out of the Huntingburg Administrative Office.

“Preston comes to our team with a strong agricultural background, along with a comprehensive Ag Lending background,” said Jim Gauker, Chief Financial Officer at Superior Ag. “He will join our sales team on farm gate visits, communicating options and opportunities to member-customers on dealer finance options. Preston will build and maintain strong relationships with customers by creating a rapport based on trust and mutual respect. He has the ability to navigate difficult conversations while answering complex inquiries and assessing risk, all while being authoritative, knowledgeable and calm.”

Weisheit received a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University, along with three minors: Organizational Leadership and Supervision, Food & Agribusiness Management, and Farm Management. For the past 13 years, he has been an Ag and Commercial Lending Officer at two large financial institutions, Old National Bank and First Financial respectively. He also works at his family owned and operated farm, Weisheit Bros. Farm, where they have a farrow to finish operation of over 7,000 head annually. Weisheit contributes in the operations at his family’s farm, along with assisting in record keeping, annual budgets, crop input purchases, and helps with maintenance and upkeep.

Weisheit and his wife, Alyssa, reside in Ireland with their four children: a daughter Reagan, 10, and three sons, Reese, 9, Trace, 6, and Dallas, 4. He has an extreme passion for hunting and thoroughly enjoys fishing and competitive grilling.
