William Edward “Ed” Lehmkuhler, 79, Jasper, passed away at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at his home.

Ed was born in Siberia, Indiana on September 10, 1936 to Casper and Dorothy (Dooley) Lehmkuhler. He married Mary Gutgsell on August 20, 1960 in Holy Family Catholic Church.

Ed retired from Masterbrand Cabinets where he had worked for 40 years. He was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church and an adorer at the Divine Providence Eucharistic Adoration Chapel. He was also a member of the Jasper Knights of Columbus.

He coached little league baseball for many years and enjoyed playing golf, watching L.A. Dodger baseball, I.U. basketball, Notre Dame football, and spending time with the grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lehmkuhler of Jasper; onedaughter, Kathy Christian and husband Kerry of Poquoson, Va.; four sons, Willie Lehmkuhler Jr. and wife Jill of Jasper, Phil Lehmkuhler and wife Sarah of Indianapolis, Paul Lehmkuhler and wife Christina of Jasper and Glen Lehmkuhler and wife Kelly of Jasper; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Leon “Cas” Lehmkuhler and wife Naomi of Florida, Jim Lehmkuhler and wife Judy of Jasper and Larry Lehmkuhler and wife Linda of Virginia.

Preceding him in death was one brother, Don Lehmkuhler.

Funeral services for Ed Lehmkuhler will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 13, 2016, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, IN. The Divine Mercy Chaplet will be prayed at the Divine Providence Eucharistic Adoration Chapel at 3:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Divine Providence Eucharistic Adoration Chapel, Precious Blood Catholic Church, or a favorite charity.
