Wings Etc. closes unexpectedly

Wings Etc., 3683 N. Newton St. in the Germantown Shopping Center, closed its doors Thursday and deleted its Facebook page.

Kevin Chance opened the restaurant last June in the 4,500 square foot space. Besides the given—wings, Wings Etc. also featured fresh-never-frozen burgers, hardwood smoked ribs and rib tips, a legendary 11-inch hotdog called the Homewrecker and even salads and wraps. Customers also had their choice of 32 TVs to watch sports on.

Rumor is that the store could reopen.

  1. Well….it wasn’t THAT unexpected. I went there three times. Each time I received over-priced food that was in under-sized portions with bad service from the wait staff.

When sitting at a table in the bar, there was NO way to see a TV without getting a neck-ache. The TVs were all situated in very peculiar positions for viewing: too high, too far away, too far left, or too far right. Did I mention bad service from the wait staff?

I just wonder how much the owner LO$T in this short-lived business venture?

    1. Answer: Likely his shorts, if that gives you a clue. But take heart – despite these ‘Wings’ being grounded, there are still some others aloft on the south side, at least the last time I was through there.
