Clara M. Streicher, 85, passed away at 6:50 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana.

Clara was born in Jasper, Indiana on February 9, 1930 to Robert and Justine (Marks) Scherle. She married Jerome Streicher on September 4, 1954 in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper.

Clara was a homemaker and member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, the Ladies Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the V.F.W. Auxiliary, the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the Golden Girls Class of 1948, the Happy Go Lucky Campers, the Camping Hoosiers, and the Jasper Deutscherverein.

She loved volunteering and volunteered for Memorial Hospital, the Jasper Arts Center, the R.S.V.P, the Tri-Cap, and local Blood Drives.

She also enjoyed camping, traveling, and her rose gardens.

She is survived by husband, Jerome Streicher of Jasper; two daughters, Sharon Fuhs and her husband Steve of Jasper and Rosemary Woolsey and her husband Marlon of Jasper; two sons, Dan Streicher and his wife Elizabeth of Avon and Ron Streicher and his wife Annette of Jasper; 10 grandchildren; one brother, William Scherle and his wife Pat of Jasper.

Preceding her in death are one sister Mary Catherine Stemle, two brothers, Arnold and John Scherle and an infant sister Rose Marie Scherle.

Funeral services for Clara M. Streicher will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at the church on Tuesday.
