Ireland warning siren not working

According to local officials, the warning siren in Ireland is not working.

The service provider for the siren has been notified and will be making repairs; however, Stan Seifert, Ireland Fire Chief, and Emergency Management Director Tammy Humbert issued a reminder to Ireland residents to verify their SAME weather radios have fresh batteries and are ready to alert of any severe weather coming to the area.

“We also encourage all citizens of Dubois County to do the same as the sirens in the county are
put in place as a backup only to notify residents outside of threatening weather that is
approaching,” said Humbert in a press release. “Sirens are not to replace your own notification process such as a NOAA weather radios.”
