Traffic stop leads to two charged with meth possession

Jasper — Deputies arrested one person and summoned another to appear in Dubois County Superior Court after a traffic stop in in Jasper Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Dubois County Narcotics Officer, an off duty deputy recognized the driver of a vehicle as having a suspended driver’s license. He notified dispatch and another deputy stopped the vehicle at Ninth and Newton Streets for the infraction at about 3:30 p.m.

While the deputies were with the vehicle, an Indiana State Police K-9 unit responded to the scene and indicated there were drugs in the vehicle. Once this occurred one of the occupants, Brandon D. Matlock, 27, of Bloomington, volunteered that he had marijuana on his person.

Officers arrested Matlock and during the search incident to his arrest, officers located a glass pipe, rolling papers, and a two-by-two inch baggy with a meth-like substance in it.

During questioning, another occupant of the vehicle, Jami Flynn-Livingston, 32, also of Bloomington, confessed to having two cellophane wrappers containing meth residue.

Matlock was charged with D felony possession of meth, and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia and marijuana and booked into the Dubois County Security Center

Flynn-Livingston was issued a summons to appear in court for D felony possession of meth.

The driver, Natasha Jones of St. Meinrad, was cited for driving while suspended.
